Unlike toll roads with fixed rates, prices on the 66 Express Lanes fluctuate based on real-time traffic conditions and demand. Our dynamic pricing system helps prevent congestion and keeps all our drivers getting where they need to go at a consistent, more reliable speed, with a posted speed limit of 70 mph. It’s up to you whether to us the two-lane 66 Express Lanes or the three non-tolled general-purpose lanes of I-66.
Managing the Flow of Traffic
Offering a faster, more reliable driving experience. With automatic adjustments based on current traffic conditions, our system is designed to keep traffic flowing 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Keep moving with dynamic tolling on the 66 Express. Based upon real-time traffic demand in the corridor, toll rates fluctuate throughout the day to maintain minimum average speeds of 55 mph or more. When demand increases, tolls adjust upward, but as traffic lessens, tolls on the 66 Express are lowered. Dynamic tolling is the best way for drivers to decide when to take advantage of the 66 Express.
Your Toll Price Locks In
Prior to any 66 Express entrance or exit, drivers will see overhead signage listing the exits in the upcoming segment(s) of express lanes and their price. That price is the current toll to drive the segment to any of those exits. Prior to the next segment, drivers will see a new sign showing the price to drive the segment to any of the exits listed on that sign. Drivers are charged only for the segment(s) driven prior to exiting the 66 Express. NOTE – Larger Vehicles Pay a Hgher Toll Rate –
