I-66 EMP Re-Ups as a Boxes of Basics Silver Sponsor for 2024

Operator of 66 Express Outside the Beltway Continues Long-Standing Partnership with Prince William Non-Profit

Manassas, Va. April 24, 2024 – At a check presentation held recently, I-66 Express Mobility Partners (EMP), the builders and operators of the 66 Express Outside the Beltway, made a contribution of $5,000 to Boxes of Basics, becoming a Silver Sponsor of the Manassas-based non-profit for the second consecutive year.

Last year, I-66 EMP was among the first to become a Silver Sponsor after Boxes of Basics launched the sponsorship program. The sponsorship will further enable Boxes of Basics in their mission to provide essential items – such as clothing, school supplies, and personal hygiene items – to under-served children across Prince William County.

“To have I-66 EMP renew their sponsorship is incredibly heartening for us,” said Sarah Tyndall, founder and executive director of Boxes of Basics. “Their continued partnership helps us accomplish our mission of providing clothing to children in need, and will benefit the kids of Prince William County all year long.”

In addition to the Silver Sponsorship, I-66 EMP has partnered with Boxes of Basics on multiple initiatives, including warm-clothing collection drives each of the past two winters.

“Renewing our partnership with Boxes of Basics is an easy decision for us,” said Nancy H. Smith, director of corporate affairs for I-66 EMP. “A primary goal of our company’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for all Northern Virginians, so supporting the necessary work done by Boxes of Basics is a perfect way to help achieve that goal. We’re pleased to be a Silver Sponsor again this year.”
