I-66 EMP Becomes Ally Sponsor of PWCCF Back-To-School Community Event
$5,000 Contribution Will Provide Prince William Students With Resources To Get Ready For the School Year
Manassas, Va. August 1, 2024– With a $5,000 contribution to the Prince William County Community Foundation (PWCCF), I-66 Express Mobility Partners (I-66 EMP) – the builder and operator of the 22.5-mile 66 Express Outside the Beltway managed-lane facility in Northern Virginia – has proudly become an Ally Sponsor for the Foundation’s upcoming Back-To-School Community Event.
To be held Saturday, Aug. 3, at Unity Reed High School in Manassas, the annual Back-To-School Community Event increases school readiness by providing students with backpacks, school supplies, and resources for nutrition, health, and wellness, including necessary vaccinations. The 2023 event connected more than 6,000 PWC residents to school-readiness resources.
“We are so grateful for I-66 EMP’s generosity in becoming an Ally Sponsor for the Foundation and supporting the Back-To-School Community Event,” said Dr. Vanessa M. Gattis, president and CEO of PWCCF. “It is gifts like these that allow us to continue to improve the quality of life for the residents of our community.”
Supporting public education across Northern Virginia has been a pillar of I-66 EMP’s community outreach since the consortium of global transportation infrastructure firms Cintra, Meridiam, and APG was formed in 2016. The roadway operator enjoys a long-standing partnership with SPARK, the educational foundation for Prince William County Public Schools, as well as Educate Fairfax, the educational foundation serving Fairfax County Public Schools.
In 2020, SPARK recognized I-66 EMP with its annual Business Partner Award.
“At I-66 EMP, we’re constantly driven to help improve the quality of life for all the residents of this region. That makes becoming an Ally Sponsor of PWCCF’s Back-To-School event a natural fit,” said Nancy H. Smith, Director of Corporate Affairs for I-66 EMP. “We look forward to the Foundation helping thousands of kids get the resources they need for the school year at the event this Saturday.”
