July 7, 2020 – RICHMOND, Va. – Ferrovial awarded a generous grant to Feed More, enabling the hunger-relief organization to distribute hundreds of thousands of meals to those in need across 29 counties and five cities in Central Virginia.

“We are truly humbled by Ferrovial’s generosity and support of our mission,” said Doug Pick, President and Chief Executive Officer at Feed More. “During the last few months, the need across our service area has increased significantly and we anticipate there may be an additional 89,000 neighbors who need temporary food assistance in the coming months. This grant will help us continue to carry out our mission and distribute more than 217,800 meals to families and individuals who are food insecure, providing these neighbors with a hand up in their times of need.”

The $54,465 grant is part of an international campaign led by Ferrovial through its Ferrovial Together Covid-19 Fund, which has committed $1.2 million to organizations in the United States to support their fight against the pandemic.

In Virginia, Cintra and Ferrovial Construction are leading entities for I-66 Express Mobility Partners and FAM Construction LLC, which are, respectively, developing and building the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. To date, the Ferrovial Together COVID-19 Fund and Ferrovial affiliated companies have contributed $186,473 to non-profit organizations in Virginia to support pandemic relief efforts.

“We are committed to supporting the communities we serve,” said Patrick Rhode, United States vice president of corporate affairs for Ferrovial and Cintra. “Feed More has a long history of serving those that are most vulnerable, and during these unprecedented times their work has become even more vital.”
