Vienna, Va., May 21, 2019 – I-66 Express Mobility Partners presented two grants today to the Foundation for Fairfax County Public Schools to support STEM education at Stenwood and Marshall Road Elementary Schools in Vienna, Virginia.  Each school received $15,000 to increase STEM activities for all students in the schools.
“Providing the tools and resources to support science and technology education at the elementary school level is foundational to develop the workforce of the future,” commented Javier Gutierrez, chief executive officer for I-66 Express Mobility Partners.  “We look forward to a long-term partnership with the Foundation for Fairfax County Public Schools in supporting innovative STEM initiatives well into the future.”
Elizabeth Murphy, executive director of the Foundation, stated, “We are delighted to accept this contribution for STEM education from I-66 Express Mobility. The work that they are supporting will be immediately impactful at these two schools, and we look forward to finding other ways to work together to grow similar programs in FCPS.”
“Marshall Road ES is fortunate to be receiving this very kind gift,” commented Jennifer Heiges, principal of Marshall Road Elementary School. “We will be able to expand our STEAM Program, reaching more of our students in the future.  We look forward to purchasing innovative resources and materials to enhance STEAM at Marshall Road”
“Stenwood is excited to receive this generous donation to purchase STEAM materials to further engage our students in science, technology, engineering, art, and math studies,” added Peggy Dammeyer, principal of Stenwood Elementary School.  “Our students will be so excited!”
